Passengers with other Emirates resident visa barred from entering Dubai | India News

MANGALURU: Expats in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who had returned to India for holidays and exigencies are now in serious trouble with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), UAE, announcing that only passengers having Dubai Resident Visa and having GDRFA approval are permitted to arrive into Dubai Airport.
Passengers having other Emirates Resident Visas are not permitted to arrive into Dubai Airport. Indian carrier Air India Express updated revised guidelines for travel from India to UAE on Friday.
Other Emirates Resident Visa Holders arriving into UAE, apart from Dubai, now will have to submit a request through the website of the Federal authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) for the necessary approval. Currently only passengers having Abu Dhabi Resident Visa and have ICA approval are permitted to arrive into Abu Dhabi Airport. Passengers having a Dubai Resident Visa are not permitted to arrive into Abu Dhabi Airport.
This effectively means that those resident visa holders of other Emirates like Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah have to look at other options to get into the UAE – like Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, that have flights operated by Indian carriers (not daily).
Though Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain and Fujairah have not yet published requirements for arrivals, additional requirements for passengers arriving into Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Ras al-Khaimah (RKT) Airports include – 10 days home quarantine upon arrival in RKT and 12 days home or institutional quarantine in AUH; PCR test on the fourth and eighth day after arrival in RKT and PCR test on the sixth and the 11th day after arrival into AUH; Adherence to wearing the tracking watch on arrival.
