A former intern at Sony Santa Monica has said their work on God of War Ragnarök was not mentioned.
Composer Jessica Mao shared her story on Twitter, stating that she was “working on the editing/arranging/implementation of the Freya chase scene” as well as the “Thor boss fight music”.
However, despite her input, Mao said her name was not included in the game’s credits, as her contribution to Ragnarök did not meet the required “minimum criteria” (although Mao is unsure what “this criterion could be”).
“Unfortunately my name is not in the credits and can’t seem to be added in a patch update,” Mao wrote (thanks, PushSqure). “I was told that in order for my contribution to the game to be credited, it must meet a number of ‘minimum criteria’… this was incredibly disappointing and disheartening for me to learn, and I would hate for someone else to do this experience.”
She continued, “Game developers, please name EVERYONE who participates in the development of a game. It only makes sense.”
better get this out before Twitter dies.
I’m so happy to see so many people enjoying God of War Ragnarök! I worked on the editing/arranging/implementation of the Freya chase scene and Thor boss fight music. you can hear a bit of the music from each scene in this video!

Responding to Mao’s post, Sean LaValle, Sony Santa Monica’s senior audio engineering designer, said he was “sorry to hear this,” and agreed that “everyone who contributed to a project should be credited.”
While LaValle said “it may indeed be too late” to rectify the situation, he assured Mao that he would “definitely ask about this”.
I am very sorry to hear this Jessica! I totally agree that everyone who has contributed to a project should be credited.
It may indeed be too late but I will certainly ask about this.
