Sunday’s Bills-Browns game has been moved to Detroit, fans will receive refunds on tickets purchased through the Bills of Ticketmaster

Bills EVP/COO Ron Raccuia and Bills GM Brandon Beane held a press conference Thursday night via Zoom to discuss the venue change for Sunday’s game and other important topics, including ticket information. Here’s a condensed version of what Raccuia and Beane had to say.

Q: How was the decision made to move the game to Detroit?

Raccoia: “The decision to move the game to Detroit is all about safety. Safety first is what we’ve been talking about here for the past 48 to 72 hours. I want to thank County Governor Poloncarz, Governor Hochul, all of our elected officials, especially (NFL) Commissioner (Rodger) Goodell and all of the league staff, and the Lions organization for their commitment and communication and helping to move the game. As I said before, our only concern was the safety of our players, our fans, our community, and making sure we didn’t divert resources that the community needs this weekend.”

Q: Are tickets refundable?

Raccuia: “We have just sent an email to all existing ticket holders for the match. So our fans will be given a refund option depending on how they bought their ticket. But I would ask them to check the emails they probably had about five or ten minutes ago, actually. They’ll all be refunded.”

Q: Are tickets transferable for the game played in Detroit?

Raccoia: “No transfer option. They are actually two separate transactions. Everyone’s tickets are automatically credited depending on how they were purchased. So if they bought on the Bills online, it’s credited that way, Ticketmaster, that way, season ticket members, directly to their season ticket bill. And the new on-sale will be completely separate from tomorrow. “

Q: What are the team’s travel plans?

bean: We will try to maintain a normal travel schedule. Of course we’re going to monitor the weather, but right now we’re setting up a plane to leave sometime Saturday afternoon. We’ll have to wait to hear from the airline when they can get it here. But we would try to keep it as close to our normal routine as possible. So at the moment, as long as the weather is what we expect for Sunday, we would fly back after the game. You know the game will be at 1, so we can have our normal routine and then fly back on Wednesday.

Q: Any frustration about not having a home game?

bean: Well, I’m counting on you to collect all the BillsMafia. In all seriousness, we hope this is still home field advantage. Fortunately, it’s not all over the country. We know BillsMafia is all over the place, and hopefully those who are in the Michigan area will surely go down. And hopefully those here who want to get out of the snow will drive there.
